After a slight hiatus Ortem returns for instalment 018 via the production talents of Jegbee. Fresh from remixing label boss Metro’s tune “Box” on Pinecone Moonshine he delivers four cuts of unique future funk on his MechaBee EP.

The title track MechaBee evokes Eastern vibes mingled with B Boy flavours. A funky drum pattern and jazz bass work out further add spiritual, mystic vibes to the party.

Deja Vu opens with with drawn out cymbal work and atmospherics. It develops quickly into a futuristic two step roller with machine hits and percussion peppering the background.

The cymbal returns for Vertigo. It punctuates this workout and plays around all the other elements. The pads and eerie noises blend together and are intersected by sections which give a whirling sensation created by being at height.

Frogs leaps into sight with an individual swing all of its own, tinged with spacey house vibes, Reece bass and vocal hits reminiscent of its title.
