Index is the first work by pioneering drum & bass producer Justice which finds its publication via the Ortem label. It is a body of work whose sum is greater than its component parts. It is a work that goes to the very core of Justice's output and catalogues in 4 tracks his influence by all things techno. It was spawned by the software that it was written on which offers a fresh take on perspective and limitations.

J1 takes the 170 vibe and distills it into percussive undertones wrapped in the warmth of synths and bleeps. The cadence of rise, fall, call and response shine through as the chosen method of delivery.

J2 is a fractured linear image of a broken beat, a sonar signal interspersed with disjointed bass and haunting bleeps.

J3 steps on the gas in a classic Detroit style workout. The interlocking patterns and rapid fire percussion infect the listeners cortex from the start, leading to an involuntary sway and head nod.

J4 is the closest incantation of pure techno and draws inspiration from De Wulf stylings for its main riff, it incorporates off beat rhythms and weaves in and out of some classic bleep action.

This release is different, compact and edgy.
